Swedish For Programmers (SFx-IT) Application Workshop

Are you interested in learning Swedish alongside intermediate programming skills in C#? Join this workshop for help on getting started with your SFx-IT application! SFx-IT, or Swedish for Programmers, is a program hosted by Tyresö commune that helps immigrants with IT skills learn Swedish to increase their chances at finding a job in Sweden! It is CSN approved and accredited.

About this event

Join this workshop to get help with applying to the distance course package offered by SFx-IT or Swedish for Programmers. In these distance courses, which are offered by C3L Komvux in Tyresö, you will receive the opportunity to take Swedish at the following levels: SFI, Svenska som andrapråk grund, and Svenska som andraspråk gymnasie along with programmering 1 and programmering 2. You will also get the opportunity to build up your portfolio, perfect your CV, and meet other IT professionals in Sweden.

This program is remote, full-time, and CSN-approved, meaning you can receive grants and student loans for it.

Requirements include:

  • Comfortable speaking English
  • Swedish personal number
  • Can live anywhere in Sweden, must be able to travel to Tyresö to take the slutprov or final exam.
  • Previous experience working in IT is a bonus, but not required.
  • CS degree is a bonus, but not required.
  • Must have a solid programming portfolio and some certifications (Codecademy, freeCodeCamp, Udemy, or a bootcamp).
  • Acceptance depends on what municipality you live it, therefore you have to check with your own to see if you are eligible.

In this workshop, we will:

  • Introduce you to the program
  • Show you how to access the application
  • Give you contact information if you have further questions about how to apply
  • Answer as many questions as we can regarding the program and its requirements (if we can't we will follow-up with answers)
  • Show you how to apply for CSN
