About

Welcome to CFI Stockholm! Our mission is to help immigrants around the world feel comfortable and supported while beginning to code, portfolio building, and navigating their new country's workforce in order to meet the growing demand for software developers.

For example, IT&Telekomföretagen estimates that an additional 25,500 new software developers are needed in Sweden by 2024. Also, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of software developers is projected to grow 22 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Coding experience or is not a requirement to join us! If it's something you have considered in the past to increase your chances of finding a dignifying and well-paying job, then please come and we can help you get started with a coding path that's suitable for your learning needs and schedule.

A valid argument on why no one is "too dumb" to code: https://www.reddit.com/r/learnprogramming/comments/koivx0/youre_not_too_stupid_for_programming/

If you aren't an immigrant, but consider yourself an ally to our cause and live in the Stockholm area, please join us!

All you need to do is sign up for a free Codecademy account. You don't have to have pro, although if you are thinking about getting it, I would highly recommend it! If money is an issue (let's face it, it is for most of us right now), then message me so we can explore ways for you to get a discount.

Of course, I'm a firm believer of the design-thinking method, so I want to know what you'd like to takeaway from these meetings so I can ensure that your needs are met.
