She initially moved to Aachen, Germany, for her studies, and she worked there for a while after completing her studies. She eventually moved to Stockholm, Sweden, because her partner got a Ph.D. position at KTH University. Computers have always been a part of her life. As a child she went to her mom's workplace and played on computers. Her mom worked as a computer analyst. She continued learning about them at home and, in the end, got a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science. Currently, Mariana is a consultant at Regent AB and has an assignment at Utopia. She was a backend developer for ten years, but now she works more with cloud infrastructure and reliability. As an immigrant, she would like to be the person she wished had guided herself when she first moved to Germany and Sweden because there is a culture shift, and it is sometimes hard to know where to put focus on and how to prepare to have the highest chance of getting a job.Here's what you can expect:
