Data Science Q&A: Computational Linguistics and NLP

35 RSVP'ed

Join the University of Notre Dame chapter for a Q&A on all things information science with Maria Antoniak!

About this event

How can we use the newest technological methods - AI, machine learning, data analytics - to explore how people share their cultural and social experiences online? What techniques are out there to computationally analyze language and the written word? And most importantly - how can you enter the world of computational social science yourself?!

Maria Antoniak, a Cornell PhD student in Information Science and University of Notre Dame alumna, will graciously answer questions from the Codecademy ND chapter at this event. Her research is in really exciting interdisciplinary fields including computational linguistics, cultural analytics, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Join us to hear her thoughts on:

- data science research versus industry

- going back to school for a graduate degree

- how the data science field is evolving

- and more!

Reminders: You do not have to be affiliated with the University of Notre Dame to attend! Everyone is welcome to attend as long as you are respectful. Audience participants will be able to ask their own questions during the last portion of the event if they wish. Questions will be asked using the raise hand feature and mic on Zoom or via the chat if your preference is no audio.

Don't forget to RSVP! Hope to see you there! 😄
