In our inaugural community hackathon you will join a small team to build your first video game with JavaScript and Phaser.js. Teams can take our Intro to Phaser course to familiarize themselves with framework before building their game. The course is free and can be found here: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-phaser

About this event

After registering for this hackathon we will pair you with a small group of other members from the Codecademy community. We will create private groups in our Discord chat server for you to collaborate and build a cool video game together.

Hackathons last two weeks to give teams time to learn and build. All submissions will be judged at the awards meetup at the end of the hackathon. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team, and we may interview the winning team on our subsequent weekly community podcast.
